This morning I rejoined the Knock Out PD boxing fraternity in Chatswood after a hiatus of a few years. Being a bit older, fatter and more out of shape for sure these days, it took some doing to get through three quarters of the session.

It was so nice to return to this excellent training programme and also to find such a warm welcoming and supportive gang.
At the end I was off – my meds having worn off – and had to sit down. This being a PD-specific environment I didn’t have to explain a thing.

They were able to just tell what I needed from reading my body language.

Exhausted but elated at this latest attempt to get fitter and more sociable, I enjoyed the ride home with outstanding support worker D.
