I started a gratitude journal yesterday with this title. My Behaviour Support Specialist and OT both recommended it. And I found it a good way to focus on the minutiae of the day specifically. Those things that may seem mundane but in hindsight actually can shed a clear light on, well .. one’s life in detail.

To do this I use an ergonomic pen designed for Parkinson’s sufferers as writing with a normal pen is more or less impossible by now. So hopefully my handwriting prowess won’t deteriorate too much or may even improve. Stranger things have happened.

As the news is so worrying at the moment I find myself looking for some more soothing influences.

Unfortunately, it’s too cold to swim at my favourite clothes-optional beach. But just now thinking back to my exploring Barcaloneta nude beach near the Catalonian capital, some vivid stark memories flooded back.

In 2018 I attended the Barcelona Mobile World Congress and stayed at a cheap backpackers hostel in Barceloneta, the seaside suburb not far from the centre.

I have to admit that this particular beach is rather unusual in that it’s a city beach that suddenly, almost seamlessly turns into a nude beach. There are a few signs but generally there are many ‘textilians’ who suddenly find themselves closer to nature than they’d bargained for.

Conversely, quite a few naturists seemed to be perturbed by some intrusive unwelcome attention as the two designated territories seemed to overlap in a way that didn’t work for either party.

It was just nice to virtually breathe in the Barcelona vibe, and enjoy the cool Summer atmosphere.
