Very good explanation of the process of the damage done by mania and hypersexuality. I happen to have hypersexuality as an ‘issue’ from both my long-standing hypomania (milder form of bipolar disease now assigned as schizoaffective disorder, or so I believe) as well as from the side effects of anti-Parkinson’s Disease meds I’ve been taken since diagnosed with Early Onset PD in 2016.

Dr Marks makes some helpful points. It’s not really all that fun, the manic state. It sort of leaves the concept of ‘fun’ light years behind on its way to euphoria.

Also, I liked how the valid point was made that while parts of the process may be intoxicating (my paraphrasing) one’s social network – or what’s left of it – may have a gut full of having to always pick up the pieces once the mania is over and the spectre of dark gloom and shame descends once more.

I would be interested in doing some research into I could contribute something meaningful to the field of mental health, based on my specific experiences. I could start by writing a few lectures perhaps.

Would be most grateful if anyone has any tips or suggestions as to how best to start off on that kind of path.
